If you are starting from the historic center of Cartagena (Centro), make your way towards the Plaza de los Coches. From there, head towards the Clock Tower (Torre del Reloj) and walk through the archway. Continue straight until you reach the main street, Carrera 1. Turn right on Carrera 1 and walk along the waterfront, enjoying the views of the Caribbean Sea. As you walk, keep an eye out for the Baluarte de Santo Domingo, which will be to your left, near Playa de la Artillería. It should take around 15-20 minutes to reach.

For a more adventurous route, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental places in the Centro area. Start at the Plaza de los Coches and head towards the Clock Tower (Torre del Reloj). From there, cycle along the waterfront on Carrera 1. This route not only takes you directly to Baluarte de Santo Domingo, but also allows you to enjoy the fresh sea breeze and scenic views. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes.
