Discover more about Las Gachas

Las Gachas, or Quebrada Las Gachas, is a stunning natural attraction located in the municipality of Guadalupe, in the Santander Department of Colombia. This unique stream is famous for its series of shallow, natural pools formed over millennia by the erosion of sandstone rock. The pools, ranging in depth, create a surreal landscape, inviting visitors to relax and immerse themselves in nature's beauty. The vibrant red color of the rocks, caused by mineral deposits, gives the stream its distinctive appearance, setting it apart from other natural attractions. This striking hue has earned Las Gachas the nickname 'Caño Cristales of Santander,' likening it to the famous 'River of Five Colors'. However, unlike Caño Cristales, Las Gachas maintains its color throughout the year. Visitors can enjoy swimming in the crystal-clear waters, sliding down the smooth, slippery rocks, and soaking in the natural 'jacuzzi' pools. The surrounding landscape offers opportunities for hiking and exploring hidden gems like waterfalls and secluded pools. Las Gachas has been a local favorite for generations, serving as a place for recreation and relaxation. Today, it attracts both domestic and international tourists seeking an escape from the city and a connection with nature.
