Getting There

  • Walking

    The Golden Welcome Center is located at 1010 Washington Ave in downtown Golden. If you are already in the downtown area, it is easily accessible on foot. From the Golden Welcome Arch on Washington Avenue, walk south. The Welcome Center will be on your left, just past 10th Street and across from Clear Creek.

  • Public Transport

    Golden is served by RTD, with several options for reaching the Welcome Center. From the Jefferson County Government Center–Golden Station (the end of the W Line), you can take the free Ore Cart Shuttle. The Tungsten (W) Route connects the RTD W Line Station to Downtown Golden. Get off at a stop near Washington Avenue and walk to 1010 Washington Ave. Alternatively, you can take the RTD Bus Route 17, which runs between 10th & Washington to Federal Center Station. RTD Bus or Light Rail Fare: A single ride costs approximately $3.

  • Driving

    The Golden Welcome Center is located at 1010 Washington Ave, Golden, CO 80401. From I-70, take the exit for Highway 6 and head east towards Golden. Follow Highway 6 to Washington Avenue and turn south. The Welcome Center will be on your left. Parking: There are several parking options in downtown Golden. Free parking is available for the first two hours in the downtown parking lots and garages after registering your license plate at the pay station or using the Parkmobile app. After the initial free period, parking costs $2.50 per hour, up to a maximum of $10 per day. Electric vehicle parking is available at the Golden Visitors Center. The Clear Creek Parking Lot at 304 10th Street offers free parking.
