Discover more about Grande River Vineyards

Grande River Vineyards, established in 1987, stands as one of Colorado's oldest and most respected wineries. Located in Palisade, in the heart of the Grand Valley, the vineyard benefits from the region's unique climate, characterized by intense sunlight, mineral-rich soil, and cool nights. These conditions contribute to the exceptional quality of the grapes and the distinct character of the wines. Visitors to Grande River Vineyards can explore the demonstration vineyard, featuring nine labeled rows where they can sample wine grapes and observe the differences between varieties. The tasting room offers a diverse selection of wines, including dry whites, Bordeaux and Rhone-style reds, and dessert wines. The winery also hosts a summer concert series in its outdoor amphitheater, creating a vibrant and memorable experience. Grande River Vineyards has a rich history of innovation in the Colorado wine industry. Founder Stephen Smith was a strong proponent of using Colorado-grown grapes and even supplied grapes to some of Colorado's first wineries. Today, the winery continues to produce approximately 5,000 cases of wine annually, maintaining its commitment to quality and tradition. The winery also offers event facilities and customized tours.
