Start at the Leadville Visitor Center located at 809 Harrison Ave. Exit the center and head south on Harrison Ave. for about 0.5 miles until you reach 6th St. Turn left onto 6th St. and continue for another 0.3 miles. You will then approach the intersection with US-24. Carefully cross the highway and follow the signs for the Top of the Rockies National Scenic Byway. The byway begins just beyond the intersection, offering scenic views and access to numerous recreational areas.
