Nestled in a residential area at the base of Cheyenne Mountain, Starr Kempf's Kinetic Sculptures presents a unique and captivating outdoor art experience. Starr Kempf (1917-1995) was an American sculptor, architect, and artist. Raised on an Ohio farm, he learned craftsmanship and engineering from his father and uncles. He served in the Air Force during WWII and later created a metal foundry. His kinetic wind sculptures gained international attention, becoming a beloved, yet sometimes controversial, landmark in Colorado Springs.
