Driving
From Crawford, Colorado, head south on Highway 92. Turn west onto Black Canyon Road, following signs to the park's North Rim. The last 7 miles are unpaved but usually accessible to most vehicles in decent weather. Continue to the North Rim Campground; the trailhead is at the end of the campground loop. There is no entrance fee to access the North Rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.

From the North Rim Campground, follow the signs to the Chasm View Nature Trail. The trailhead is located near the day-use parking area. The loop trail is a short walk with numbered stops and interpretive information. The trail is well-maintained and easy to follow.
