You'll come to the Yampa River Core Trail; take a right to follow the trail along the river. After about 1 mile, the trail will lead you to the entrance of the Mad Creek Trailhead, where you can begin your hike up to Historic Mad Creek Barn.

    Rent a bike from one of the local bike shops in Steamboat Springs. Start at the Bike Shop located at 2160 Curve Ct, Steamboat Springs, CO 80487. Head southeast on Curve Ct toward US-40 E, then turn left on US-40 E. After about 1 mile, take a right onto the Yampa River Core Trail. Follow this trail for about 1.5 miles until you reach the Mad Creek Trailhead. From there, you can park your bike and hike up to the Historic Mad Creek Barn.

    Take the free Steamboat Springs bus from any stop in town that serves the Mountain area. Get off at the stop closest to the Yampa River Core Trail.
