Fellin Park, often referred to as the Ouray Hot Springs Park, is a beloved recreational area in the heart of Ouray, Colorado. The Fellin family, who deeded the land to the city in 1924, lends its name to this expansive park. Over the years, Fellin Park has evolved into a versatile space that caters to a wide range of interests and activities. The park features a large playground, a skate park, and a quarter-mile asphalt track. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy the basketball court and the Smokey Joe Wood baseball field, named after the famous baseball player who lived in Ouray as a child. Picnic areas and a gazebo provide spaces for relaxation and social gatherings. Fellin Park is also a popular venue for events. It hosts weddings, reunions, birthdays, concerts, and races. The Mountain Air Music Series, a free summer concert series, takes place here every Thursday night in June, drawing music lovers from all over. The park is also the main gathering spot for viewing the fireworks on the 4th of July. Additionally, the Music and Makers Fest is held in Fellin Park every Labor Day weekend. Located directly south of the Ouray Hot Springs Pool, Fellin Park serves as a link between downtown Ouray and the hot springs. A master plan was developed in 2016 to enhance the park's infrastructure and features, including new restroom facilities, improved lighting, a stage facility, and the relocation of Miner's Park. The park also has a Miner's Walk, which pays homage to Ouray's mining history.
