To reach the Butler-McCook House & Garden at 396 Main St, Hartford from New Britain, catch the CTtransit Bus Route 82 from the New Britain Transportation Center. The bus runs frequently, and the ride takes about 25-30 minutes. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop at Main St and Trumbull St in Hartford. Once you disembark, walk east on Trumbull St until you reach Main St, then turn left. The Butler-McCook House & Garden will be about two blocks down on your left.

Train
From New Britain, take the Hartford Line train from the New Britain train station towards Hartford. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes. Once you arrive at the Hartford Union Station, exit the station and head towards the bus terminal. You can take the CTtransit Bus Route 41 or 50 that goes towards Main St. Get off at the stop at Main St and Trumbull St. Walk east on Trumbull St, then turn left on Main St. The Butler-McCook House & Garden will be on your left after a couple of blocks.

Start by heading west on Main St towards the intersection with Columbus Blvd. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the Hartford city line. Once in Hartford, continue straight on Main St. The Butler-McCook House & Garden will be at 396 Main St, just a few blocks past the intersection with Trumbull St.
