Walking
Start at the Avarua Town Centre, near the main market area. Head southeast on Ara Tapu Road. Continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for local shops and eateries along the way, which can be great stops if you need refreshments. As you approach the area known as Areanu Tapere, look for the cemetery on your right. The RSA Cemetery is located at R622+7QF, just off Ara Tapu. You should see a sign directing you to the entrance.
Biking
If you're renting a bike, start from the Avarua Town Centre and head southeast on Ara Tapu Road. Bike straight for about 1.5 kilometers. This route is relatively flat and easy to navigate. As you cycle, enjoy the local scenery and perhaps stop at a café for a drink. When you reach the area of Areanu Tapere, the RSA Cemetery will be on your right-hand side, just off Ara Tapu Road. Look for the entrance sign.
Public Transport
Catch a local bus from the Avarua Town Centre heading towards the airport or the southern beaches. Inform the driver that you would like to stop near the RSA Cemetery. The bus journey will take approximately 10-15 minutes. Once you arrive, walk back a short distance along Ara Tapu Road, and you will find the cemetery on your right, located at R622+7QF. Make sure to check the local bus schedule for return times.
