    From Avarua town center, head west on Ara Tapu (the main road). Continue for approximately 6 kilometers. Look for the sign indicating Black Rock, located near the road. The beach is a short walk from the main road. There is no cost associated with walking to Black Rock.

    Public Transport

    From Avarua, take either the Clockwise or Anti-Clockwise bus. Both buses service the entire island, including Black Rock. The bus stop is located on the main road near Black Rock. A one-way bus fare is NZ$5. Buses operate hourly, Monday to Saturday. Limited service is available on Sundays.

    Taxi

    Taxis are available from Avarua. A taxi ride to Black Rock from Avarua town center will take approximately 10-15 minutes. Taxi fares are approximately NZ$17-NZ$21. It is best to book a taxi by phone as hailing one is difficult.
