Walking
From downtown La Fortuna, El Salto is approximately a 25-30 minute walk. Head south on Route 702, the main road leaving La Fortuna. Continue past the intersection with Calle Diag 301 (the road to La Fortuna Waterfall). Shortly after, you'll see a bridge crossing the Río Fortuna; El Salto is located just before the bridge on the left. Look for a steep, muddy path leading down to the river.

Taxi/Ride-Share
A taxi or Uber ride from La Fortuna to El Salto typically costs between $4 and $6 USD. The driver will drop you off near the bridge on Route 702. From there, follow the path down to the river. Be sure to arrange a pick-up time or have a local SIM card to call a taxi for your return.

Driving
Drive south from La Fortuna on Route 702 towards San Ramon. Shortly after passing the road to La Fortuna Waterfall (Diagonal 301), you'll approach the bridge over the Río Fortuna. Limited parking is available on the side of the road just before the bridge. Locals may offer to watch your car for a tip, typically around 2,000 CRC ($4 USD). An alternative is to park a little further away and walk to avoid the parking fee.

Public Transport
Take the local bus from La Fortuna to Río Fortuna. The bus departs from the main bus terminal in La Fortuna. The cost is approximately 500-1000 CRC (Costa Rican Colón). Once you arrive in Río Fortuna, walk towards the main road and look for signs indicating El Salto. It is about a 15-20 minute walk from the bus stop to the entrance of El Salto (Rope Swing).
