Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from the main entrance of Arenal Volcano National Park, which is located on Route 142. From the entrance, continue driving south for about 4.5 km until you reach the intersection with Route 120. Turn left onto Route 120 and continue for approximately 3 km. Look for signs indicating Puente Colgante El Pilón. You will arrive at the bridge area, where parking is available nearby. Please note that there may be a small parking fee.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, take a bus from La Fortuna to the entrance of Arenal Volcano National Park. Buses typically run every hour. Once you arrive at the park entrance, you can either walk or take a taxi to Puente Colgante El Pilón, which is approximately 4.5 km away. If walking, follow the directions for cars as mentioned above. Alternatively, you can ask the bus driver or local guides for the best options to reach the bridge, as they may have additional insights on local transport.

  You can also opt for a taxi or rideshare service from La Fortuna directly to Puente Colgante El Pilón. The journey should take about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic.
