    The most convenient way to reach Arenal Volcano National Park is by car. From La Fortuna, it's approximately a 30-minute drive to the main visitor center. Set your GPS to 'Arenal Volcano National Park Visitor Center'. Parking is free with your park entrance. Be aware that the Peninsula Sector is an 11-minute drive from the main entrance; use 'Volcan Arenal Sector Peninsula National Park' in your GPS. A taxi from La Fortuna will cost around $25 USD.

  • Public Transport

    While a direct bus to the park entrances is unavailable, you can take a bus from La Fortuna towards the park. Buses leave twice a day from La Fortuna bus station at 8 am and 2 pm, tickets are about $5 USD. The closest the bus can take you is at the intersection off the main road, leaving a significant walk to the visitor center. Uber service can be patchy.
