To reach Playa Cocles via public transportation, find the bus stop in Cahuita. Buses to Puerto Viejo pass frequently, and you can catch one from the main road. Inform the driver you are heading to Playa Cocles; the fare is around 500-700 colones. The ride takes about 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive at Playa Cocles, you will need to walk a short distance to get to the beach area.

If you are already in the vicinity of Cahuita National Park and want to walk to Playa Cocles, exit the park and head south on the main road (Route 36). It is about a 30-minute walk, approximately 2.5 kilometers. Follow the road signs directing you to Playa Cocles. Be sure to stay on the sidewalk and watch for traffic.
