Discover more about Rio Negro Hot Springs

Rio Negro Hot Springs is a serene escape where you can immerse yourself in nature and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of volcanic hot springs. The hot springs are fed by the geothermal activity of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano, the largest and most active volcano in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by a dense tropical forest. The clear waters of the Rio Negro flow near the ten pools, each built on the riverbank to capture the steaming, mineral-rich waters. The pools vary in temperature, with some reaching up to 40 degrees Celsius. For a refreshing contrast, you can take a dip in the cool Rio Negro river. Enhance your experience with a volcanic mud bath. Apply the mineral-rich mud to your skin, let it dry, and then wash it off in the river or an open shower. This natural spa treatment leaves your skin feeling soft and rejuvenated. Beyond the hot springs, explore the area's natural beauty by hiking to the Rio Negro Waterfalls. The trail leads to four waterfalls, each with its own swimming hole. The combination of hot springs and waterfalls makes for a memorable visit. The hot springs are open from 9 am to 6 pm daily.
