From Limón city center, head northwest on Avenida 2 toward Calle 12. Continue straight onto Route 32, which will take you directly toward the town of Guápiles. After approximately 54 kilometers, you will reach the intersection with Route 34. Turn left onto Route 34 and follow the signs to Tortuguero. Keep in mind that you will need to park your car in La Pavona or Caño Blanco, as cars are not allowed in Tortuguero. A parking fee may apply, typically around $10 per day. From either La Pavona or Caño Blanco, you will need to take a boat to Tortuguero, which costs approximately $15-$20 and takes about 1-1.5 hours.

Public Transportation
From Limón, take a bus to Guápiles, which departs from the main bus terminal. The bus ride takes around 1-1.5 hours and costs approximately $4. Once you arrive in Guápiles, transfer to a bus heading to La Pavona or Caño Blanco, where you can park your car if you drove here. This second bus ride will take about 30 minutes and also costs around $2-$3. Once you reach La Pavona or Caño Blanco, board a boat to Tortuguero for about $15-$20. The boat ride will last 1-1.5 hours, and it is recommended to check the boat schedules ahead of time to ensure a smooth connection.
