If you are driving from Limón town, start by heading south on the Route 32 highway towards Guapiles. Continue on Route 32 for about 30 kilometers. Turn left onto the road leading towards the canal, which is approximately 5 kilometers from the main highway. Follow the dirt road until you reach the canal entrance. Parking is available near the entrance.

To reach Tortuguero Canal by public transport, first make your way to the Limón bus terminal. Look for the bus heading to Matina; the journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Matina, you may need to take a taxi or a local shuttle to the Tortuguero Canal entrance, which is approximately 5 kilometers away. Confirm with the driver that they are going to the canal, as some may not be familiar with the area. The taxi ride should take around 10-15 minutes.
