From Manuel Antonio National Park, exit the park and head towards Route 34 (Costanera Sur) in the direction of San José. Follow Route 34 for about 10 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 27. Merge onto Route 27 heading towards San José. Continue for approximately 40 kilometers, and take exit 16 towards Santa María. After exiting, follow the signs to Santa María and drive for about 5 kilometers. The Monumento a los caídos de la Guerra Civil de 1948 will be on your left at coordinates 9.6529753, -83.9698962. Parking may be available near the monument.

To reach the Monumento a los caídos de la Guerra Civil de 1948 from Manuel Antonio National Park using public transportation, first, take a bus from Manuel Antonio to Quepos. The bus fare is approximately 500 colones (about $1 USD). Once in Quepos, transfer to a bus heading to San José via Route 34. This bus will take you towards Santa María. The fare for this leg is around 3,000 colones (about $5 USD). Inform the bus driver of your destination, and they will let you know when to disembark. Walk approximately 1 kilometer from the bus stop to reach the monument at coordinates 9.6529753, -83.9698962.
