Getting There

  • Bus

    From Manuel Antonio, head to the main road (Carretera Costanera). Look for the bus stop near the Manuel Antonio National Park entrance. Take a bus heading towards Dominical. The bus will stop at various points along the way, but make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at Playa Ballena. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes.

  • Taxi or Rideshare

    You can also take a taxi or use a rideshare app. Simply request a ride to Playa Ballena. Provide the driver with the address: 4863+XV2, Carr. Pacífica Fernández Oreamuno, Provincia de Puntarenas, Osa. The drive from Manuel Antonio will take around 25-30 minutes, depending on traffic.

  • Walking and Bus Combination

    If you prefer a more scenic route, you can walk to the nearest bus stop in Quepos, which is about 15-20 minutes from Manuel Antonio. At the Quepos bus station, board a bus to Dominical and ask the driver to let you off at Playa Ballena. This journey will take approximately 1 hour in total, including the walking time.
