Car
If you're driving from San José in the North Zone, take Route 1 (Interamericana) heading northwest. Continue for about 30 km until you reach the turnoff for Route 126 towards Poás. Follow Route 126 for approximately 15 km, which will take you directly to the entrance of the Poás Volcano National Park. The entrance fee is around $15 per person for foreigners. After entering the park, continue on the paved road for about 10 minutes to reach the Mirador del Cráter.

To reach the Mirador del Cráter del Volcan Poás by public transport, start from San José. You can take a bus from the Terminal 7-10 to Poás. Buses run regularly and the fare is approximately $3. Once you arrive in Poás, you may need to take a taxi or a local shuttle to the entrance of Poás Volcano National Park, which is about a 10-minute drive away. The entrance fee is around $15 per person for foreigners. After entering the park, follow the signs to the Mirador del Cráter.
