Bus
From San Jose, head to the Terminal de Buses de la Caribe located at Calle 12 and Avenida 5. Purchase a ticket to Alajuela. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Once in Alajuela, get off at the main bus terminal. From there, look for a bus to Poás, which will take you closer to Laguna Botos. The Poás bus leaves frequently, and the ride should take about 1 hour.
