    Alternatively, you can take the colectivo (shared taxi) from Puerto Jiménez to Carate, which passes by Cabo Matapalo. The colectivo departs Puerto Jiménez at 6:00 AM and 1:30 PM, passing Matapalo about an hour later. The fare is approximately $4 per person. From the Matapalo drop-off point, you may need to walk or arrange for a local transfer to reach the lodge, which is located in Playa Tamales.
