If you're starting from the National Museum of Costa Rica (Museo Nacional de Costa Rica), exit the museum and head south on Avenida 2. Continue straight until you reach Calle 8. Turn left onto Calle 8, and the San José Central Market will be on your right, just a short walk away.

If you're near the Plaza de la Cultura, walk to the nearest bus stop and take any bus heading towards downtown San José. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Mercado Central stop. From there, it's a short walk: head southeast on Calle 8, and you will find the San José Central Market on your left.

For a more comfortable option, you can take a taxi. Simply find a taxi stand or hail one on the street. Tell the driver you want to go to San José Central Market (Mercado Central). It's a well-known location, so they will know exactly where to take you. The ride will be quick and should cost around 1,500 to 2,500 Costa Rican colones.
