From Liberia, take the Inter-Americana Highway 1 east for approximately 20 minutes. Look for the exit for Llanos del Cortés, keeping an eye out as the sign can be easy to miss. Follow the signs to the parking lot. The road is paved until the entrance, then turns into a well-maintained dirt road. Parking is free with admission.

From San José, take a bus to Liberia from Terminal 7-10; the journey is approximately 4-5 hours. In Liberia, switch to a local bus heading towards Bagaces, which takes about 30 minutes. From Bagaces, take a taxi or walk 3 kilometers to the waterfall. A taxi from Bagaces to the waterfall costs approximately $10-$15.
