The Palais de la Culture Bernard Binlin-Dadié, also known as the Palace of Culture of Treichville, stands as Abidjan's premier cultural institution. Situated on the lagoon front between the Houphouët-Boigny and General de Gaulle bridges, it's a hub of artistic expression and community engagement. Inaugurated on October 1, 1999, the Palais de la Culture was a gift from China to the Ivorian government, symbolizing a strong cultural exchange. The complex covers 12,000 square meters and includes performance halls, exhibition spaces, and gardens. A unique feature is the repurposed Fokker F27 presidential airplane, now a children's library called 'l'oiseau-livres'. Visitors can immerse themselves in traditional Ivorian music, dance, and contemporary art. The Palais hosts a dynamic calendar of events, including theater productions, art fairs, workshops, and seminars. It is equipped with modern facilities, ensuring a comfortable and enriching experience for all. The surrounding gardens offer a tranquil space for relaxation and reflection.
