The market was rebuilt by SETAO, mandated by SICOGI, a construction and real estate management company. The reconstruction created a surface of 26,300 m², consisting of 3609 stalls, 1850 boxes of 3 m², 52 shops of 40 m², and 31 shops of 17 m². Inaugurated in June 2003, the market also houses 58 fishmongers, 1 butcher, 8 maquis (local eateries), and 20 cold rooms.
