Founded after 150 BC, Třísov was one of the southernmost Celtic fortifications in Bohemia. The Celts, known as the Bój tribe in the Czech territory, prospered during this time. Třísov held an exclusive position as a meeting point between Celtic culture and the Roman civilization, evidenced by Roman ceramics found at the site.
