The Městské muzeum a galerie Svratka offers a captivating look into the past, focusing primarily on the interwar period, post-war trade, regional history, and local crafts. The museum is housed in the loft of a former fire station. The main exhibition recreates a small town from the 1930s, allowing visitors to wander through the workshops and businesses of the time. You can peek into the workshops of a tinsmith, potter, and cobbler, as well as a ski maker, hatter, furrier and tailor. There's also a savings bank, a school, and a general store with a tobacconist. The exhibits showcase original equipment and goods from the period. Another part of the museum is dedicated to a Jednota store from the 1970s, offering a glimpse into the commerce of the more recent past. The Gallery of Vysočina Painters showcases the works of local artists. The museum also hosts traditional Christmas exhibitions. The first museum in Svratka was founded in 1940 by Bedřich Tuček. In 2002, the new museum was founded. The museum officially opened in its new location on May 21, 2005.
