Car
If you are traveling by car within Fort Delaware State Park, first locate the main exit road leading out of the park. Head east on Fort Delaware State Park Road until you reach the intersection with Route 9 (also known as River Road). Turn right onto Route 9 and continue for about 1.5 miles. Look for signs directing you to Delaware City. You will arrive at the Fort Delaware Ferry terminal, located at approximately 39.5844° N latitude and -75.5728° W longitude. Note that there is a parking fee at the ferry terminal, which may vary based on the season.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, start by taking a bus service that operates in the local area, such as the DART First State bus system. You will want to catch a bus to Delaware City. Once you arrive in Delaware City, you can either walk or take a short taxi ride to the Fort Delaware Ferry terminal, which is approximately 0.5 miles away. Follow the signs for the ferry terminal, and be prepared for a small fee for the ferry ride to Fort Delaware.
