The Occupation Museum
The Occupation Museum (Besættelsesmuseet), Aarhus
One of the world's few museums exploring gender, equality, and sexuality through history and contemporary dialogue.
KØN is one of the world's few museums dedicated to the cultural history of gender, equality, and sexuality. Housed in the former Aarhus City Hall (built 1857), this intimate museum explores gender roles, sex education history, the women's movement, and contemporary gender issues through permanent and rotating exhibitions. The museum also hosts talks, workshops, and debates, and features a welcoming café with free entry.
