Getting There

Metro
If you're starting from Copenhagen Central Station (Københavns Hovedbanegård), take the Metro M1 line towards Vestamager. Get off at the Christianshavn station, which is just four stops away. Once you exit the station, follow the signs to the exit. Turn right onto Holmens Kanal, and continue walking straight until you reach the canal. From there, you can see Slotsholmen across the water.

From the City Hall Square (Rådhuspladsen), you can take bus number 1A towards Vesterbrogade. Get off at the 'Holmens Kanal' stop. Once you step off the bus, walk straight towards the water. You will see Slotsholmen directly ahead as you approach the canal. Cross the bridge if needed to reach the island.

If you are near the Nyhavn area, you can walk to Slotsholmen. Head northwest along Nyhavn towards the end of the canal. When you reach the intersection with Holmens Kanal, turn left.
