A Modern Circuit with Historic Roots

Rødby Karting Ring stands as Denmark's only internationally certified go-kart circuit, spanning 1,246 meters of meticulously designed asphalt. The current facility opened in 2018, replacing the original Rødby track that operated from 1972 until its closure in 2015. The original circuit, which measured 672 meters, was Denmark's longest go-kart track at its inception and served as a launching pad for many of the nation's most celebrated racing drivers. When infrastructure expansion for the Femern Bridge connection between Denmark and Germany required the old track's land, a new and larger circuit was constructed just a few hundred meters to the east, incorporating modern safety standards and enhanced facilities.

Technical Excellence and International Recognition

The track's design presents a formidable challenge to drivers of all skill levels. A defining feature is the demanding 180-degree left-hand turn that requires precise braking and acceleration control, setting up competitors for the final sector's high-speed run. Long straights alternate with technically intricate corners, demanding both speed management and racing line precision. The circuit's FIA approval reflects its compliance with international motorsport standards, making it a legitimate venue for competitive events. In 2023, Rødby hosted its first FIA Karting event, and by 2025, it had evolved into a premier destination for European championship racing, attracting 245 international drivers for the FIA Karting European Championship.

Year-Round Racing and Training Operations

The facility operates seasonally from early March through late October, accommodating both licensed club members and recreational visitors. Licensed racers enjoy dedicated training sessions during scheduled hours, with the cafeteria typically open throughout training times. The track hosts regular club races, with registration opening for major events such as the Rødby Race held on the first Saturday in August. During race weekends, standard training is suspended on Friday and Saturday to accommodate competitive events. On some training days, the circuit may be leased to youth clubs or other groups, potentially resulting in half-hour training intervals for licensed drivers. The weekend preceding major races typically remains available for full-duration training sessions.

Recreational Go-Kart Experiences

Beyond competitive racing, Rødby Gokart offers rental experiences designed for groups, families, and casual enthusiasts. The facility operates SODI go-karts, manufactured by the world's largest go-kart producer, with regular maintenance ensuring consistent performance and safety. Children from age eight and adults from age thirteen can participate in supervised driving sessions. Offerings include 15-minute time trials for beginners learning the circuit layout, as well as extended two-session packages for those seeking more intensive track time. Professional instructors provide coaching on racing technique and line optimization, helping drivers maximize their experience regardless of prior experience.

Situated on Lolland in southern Denmark's Baltic coast region, approximately 170 kilometers south of Copenhagen, Rødby Karting Ring serves as a regional motorsport hub. The facility's proximity to the German border and its status as an international circuit have positioned it as a destination for European-level competition. The surrounding area offers additional attractions including Lalandia Aquadome, Rodbyhavn Port with its ferry connections, and access to Lolland's countryside and beaches, making it a natural inclusion in regional touring itineraries.
