From Barahona, take the Carretera Barahona-Pedernales (also known as Highway 44) heading southwest. Drive for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction for Las Mercedes. Turn left at the junction and follow the signs towards Las Mercedes. Continue driving for about 10 kilometers. You will see signs for Mirador Hoyo de Pelempito. As you approach, you may need to navigate some smaller roads; ensure your GPS is set for '3FRR+G65, Hoyo de Pelempito, Las Mercedes'. The last part of the journey may involve driving on a dirt road, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. There's no entry fee for the viewpoint.
