From Barahona, take the Carretera Barahona-Pedernales (DR-44) heading west. Drive approximately 36 kilometers (around 45 minutes) until you reach the junction where you will turn left onto the road marked for Hoyo De Pelempito. Follow the signs for Hoyo De Pelempito; the road will lead you into the mountains. Be mindful that the last stretch is a dirt road, which may be challenging. 4x4 vehicles are recommended due to the rough terrain. Once you reach the entrance, there may be a small fee for parking.

Public Transportation
Starting from Barahona, head to the main bus terminal and look for a guagua (shared taxi or minibus) heading to Pedernales. The fare should be around 100-150 Dominican Pesos (approximately $2-3 USD). Inform the driver that you are going to Hoyo De Pelempito. Once you arrive at Pedernales, you will need to take a motorcycle taxi (motoconcho) to reach the entrance of Hoyo De Pelempito.
