Continue for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction with Carretera 3. Turn left onto Carretera 3 and follow it for about 20 kilometers. You will pass through several small towns where you can stop for refreshments or ask locals for directions. After about 20 kilometers, look for signs indicating Cordillera Oriental. Public Transportation
To reach Cordillera Oriental from Cordillera Central using public transportation, you will first need to find a local bus (carro publico) heading towards Santo Domingo. Buses leave regularly from various points in Cordillera Central. Once you arrive in Santo Domingo, transfer to a bus service that heads towards the eastern region (look for buses going to Hato Mayor or El Seibo). The fare for this leg of the trip should be around 200-300 DOP. After approximately 2 hours, you will reach Hato Mayor.
