You will pass through several small towns where you can stop for refreshments or ask locals for directions. After about 20 kilometers, look for signs indicating Cordillera Oriental. The coordinates for Cordillera Oriental are approximately 18.8665721 latitude and -69.4171145 longitude, which will guide you to the mountain range.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Cordillera Oriental from Cordillera Central using public transportation, you will first need to find a local bus (carro publico) heading towards Santo Domingo. Buses leave regularly from various points in Cordillera Central. Once you arrive in Santo Domingo, transfer to a bus service that heads towards the eastern region (look for buses going to Hato Mayor or El Seibo). The fare for this leg of the trip should be around 200-300 DOP. After approximately 2 hours, you will reach Hato Mayor. From Hato Mayor, you can catch a local taxi or a motoconcho (motorcycle taxi) to take you closer to the Cordillera Oriental. This last leg of the journey may cost around 500 DOP.
