Walking
If you are in the city center of Puerto Plata, make your way to Av. Gral. Gregorio Luperón. You can start at Parque Central, which is a central point for many tourists. From Parque Central, walk east along Calle 12 de Julio until you reach Av. Gral. Gregorio Luperón. Turn left on Av. Gral. Gregorio Luperón and continue straight for about 1 kilometer. You will see the Fortaleza de San Felipe on your right, near the waterfront. The lighthouse is situated at the harbor nearby, making it a scenic walk.

Public Transportation
To reach Fortaleza de San Felipe using public transportation, head to the nearest bus stop along Av. Gral. Gregorio Luperón. Look for local guaguas (minibuses) heading towards the waterfront or the 'Malecón'. Board the guagua and pay the fare (around 50 pesos). Ask the driver to let you off at the Fortaleza de San Felipe stop. Once you get off, the fortress will be in sight. The walk from the bus stop to the entrance of the fortress is only a few minutes.

Bicycle Rental
If you prefer a bike ride, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops. Start from the city center and head towards Av. Gral. Gregorio Luperón. Follow the avenue towards the east for about 1 kilometer. The ride is pleasant, and you can easily park your bicycle near the entrance of Fortaleza de San Felipe. Remember to wear a helmet and stay safe on the roads.
