    If you are staying in the city center of Puerto Plata, you can easily walk to the Steam Train of Puerto Plata. Start at the main square, Parque Independencia. From there, head south on Calle 12 de Julio for about 10 minutes. You will pass several local shops and cafes. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenida 27 de Febrero. Cross the avenue and keep walking straight on Calle Q8X3. After about 5 more minutes, you will see the Steam Train of Puerto Plata on your right. It is a historical landmark and should be easy to spot.

    If you prefer to take public transport, you can catch a local guagua (minibus) from any central bus stop in Puerto Plata. Look for a guagua heading towards the city center and get off at the stop closest to the Malecón (the waterfront promenade).
