Getting There
Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the town of Latacunga, which is about 30 kilometers away from Cotopaxi National Park. Drive on the E35 highway towards Quito. After approximately 20 kilometers, you'll see signs for Cotopaxi National Park. Turn off the E35 onto the road leading into the park. Continue driving for about 10 kilometers until you reach the park entrance. There is a small fee for entering the park (around $5 per person). Once inside, continue on the main road until you reach the parking area at the base of Cotopaxi, which is approximately another 10 kilometers. From the parking area, you'll need to hike to the base camp where the climbing tours begin.
