Car
If you are traveling by car, start in Latacunga. From the city center, head south on Av. Eloy Alfaro towards Av. 5 de Agosto. Continue on Av. 5 de Agosto and take the exit onto the Pan-American Highway (E35) towards Ambato. After approximately 10 km, take the exit toward Cotopaxi National Park. Follow the signs to Cotopaxi Visitors Center. The center is located at the coordinates 9G43+QJV.
Public Transportation
To reach the Cotopaxi Visitors Center via public transportation, first, get to the Latacunga bus terminal. From there, take a bus heading to Cotopaxi National Park. The fare is usually around $2. The bus will drop you off near the park entrance. From the entrance, you can either walk or hire a local taxi to take you to the Cotopaxi Visitors Center, which is approximately 10 km from the entrance.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Latacunga to the Cotopaxi Visitors Center. This option may cost around $30-$40 depending on your negotiation skills and the time of day. The taxi will take you directly to the center, which is approximately 30 minutes away from Latacunga.
