Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head towards the town of Pano. From the main road (E28), take the exit towards Pano, and continue straight for about 15 kilometers. Once you reach Pano, look for local signs indicating Cascadas de Pimpilala. The final stretch involves a dirt road that may require a 4x4 vehicle, so ensure your car is suitable. Follow the road for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the parking area near the falls.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Cascadas de Pimpilala using public transport, start from Tena, the capital of Napo Province. Take a bus to Pano (buses run frequently and cost around $1). Once in Pano, you can either hire a taxi (approximately $10) or ask locals for shared rides to the falls. Ensure to confirm with your driver to take you to the entrance of the Cascadas de Pimpilala. The taxi or shared ride will navigate through the dirt road leading to the falls.

• Hiking

  For the adventurous, if you are already in Pano and prefer a more immersive experience, consider hiking. From the town center, take the dirt path leading towards the falls. The hike is roughly 4 kilometers and will take around 1-1.5 hours. It is advisable to go with a group or guide, as trails can be unclear. Bring plenty of water and wear appropriate footwear for a safe and enjoyable trek.
