  • Boat

    The final leg to Jamu Lodge requires boat transportation along the Cuyabeno River. From Lago Agrio, take a bus to the Cuyabeno Bridge. At the bridge, register at the reserve's office and arrange for a motorized canoe to take you to the lodge. The boat trip takes approximately 2 hours. The cost for the boat transport is typically included in the lodge package.

Jamu Lodge, located in the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, is an eco-lodge committed to preserving the natural beauty of the Amazon rainforest. The lodge is situated a short distance downstream from Laguna Grande, offering guests easy access to the reserve's diverse ecosystems. Jamu Lodge operates with a minimal environmental impact policy. Solar panels provide energy, and biodigesters treat wastewater using natural enzymes and bacteria. All inorganic waste is removed from the reserve, and organic material is composted. The lodge also supports local sustainable development projects.Accommodations at Jamu Lodge include a range of rooms and suites built in a traditional, rustic style with thatched roofs and wooden walls. Each room has a private bathroom with hot and cold water, electricity, and mosquito nets. Suites offer additional amenities such as private balconies, couches, and living rooms.Guests can participate in a variety of activities, including jungle hikes, canoe rides, birdwatching, and visits to local indigenous communities. Knowledgeable guides lead excursions to spot wildlife such as monkeys, birds, reptiles, and insects. Visitors can also learn about the traditions and customs of the Siona people, including the preparation of casabe, a traditional yucca bread.
