Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Quito, take the Pan-American Highway (E28) southbound. After approximately 1.5 hours, look for the signs for Baños and turn onto the E30 road. Continue on E30 for about 30 minutes until you reach the town of Baños. From Baños, follow the signs for Termas La Merced which is approximately a 10-minute drive. The thermal baths are located just outside of Baños, and you will see the entrance to Termas La Merced on your right.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Termas La Merced using public transport, first take a bus from Quito to Baños. Buses leave from the Quitumbe bus terminal and the journey takes about 3-4 hours, costing approximately $2-4. Once in Baños, you can take a local taxi or a shared van to Termas La Merced. The taxi ride will take about 10 minutes and costs around $5. Ensure you confirm the fare before starting your ride.

• Local Taxi

  If you're already in Baños, you can easily hire a local taxi to take you to Termas La Merced. The ride is short, taking about 10 minutes, and should cost around $5. Make sure to negotiate the fare before getting into the taxi.

• Walking

  If you are feeling adventurous and are already in Baños, you can also walk to Termas La Merced. The walk will take about 40 minutes to an hour. From the center of Baños, head towards the road leading out of town that goes towards Termas La Merced. The path is well marked, and you will enjoy scenic views along the way.
