Public Transport
Most travelers access Quilotoa Lake via Latacunga. From Latacunga's bus terminal, take a bus to Quilotoa. Buses operated by Cooperativa de Transporte 14 de Octubre depart approximately every three hours and cost $2-4. The journey takes around 2 hours and 20 minutes. Alternatively, buses go to Zumbahua, where you can hire a taxi or pickup truck for approximately $5-8 to Quilotoa. Consider confirming the return bus schedule upon arrival in Quilotoa.
Car
Driving to Quilotoa Lake from Quito takes approximately 3-4 hours. Take the Pan-American Highway south to Latacunga, then follow the road towards Pujilí and Zumbahua. The route is paved. From the Quilotoa village, continue 13 kilometers on the paved road to the crater. Parking is available near the lagoon entrance for $2.
