Walking
Start from the Lalibela town center, where you will find the main square. From the square, head northeast along the main road (known locally as the 'bazar road'). Walk for about 500 meters until you see a small local market on your right. Continue walking straight for another 300 meters. You'll pass a few small shops and cafes on your left. Look for a sign that indicates the direction to the Rock-Hewn Churches. Turn left at the sign and keep walking for about 200 meters. You will reach the entrance to the Rock-Hewn Churches, which will be on your right.

Walking
If you are at the Lalibela Airport, exit the airport and turn left onto the main road. Walk straight for about 800 meters until you reach the main junction in Lalibela. From the junction, turn right and continue walking for 1 kilometer. You will pass by various accommodations, shops, and local eateries. Stay on this road until you reach a small hill. Once you reach the hilltop, the Rock-Hewn Churches will be visible ahead. Continue straight for another 500 meters, and the entrance will be on your left.

If you are staying at a hotel in Lalibela, ask the reception for directions to the Rock-Hewn Churches. Most accommodations are within walking distance. Generally, you would head out of the hotel and walk towards the main road. From there, follow the signs to the churches, which are approximately a 15-minute walk. You will pass by local shops, and feel free to ask locals for assistance if you're unsure. Follow any signs that point towards the 'Churches' as they become more frequent the closer you get.
