Getting There

  • Driving

    From Vágar Airport, drive west on Route 22 towards Sørvágur. In Sørvágur, follow Route 45 towards Gásadalur. The drive takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Pass through the one-lane Gásadalstunnilin tunnel. Upon exiting the tunnel, continue a short distance to Gásadalur. Park in the designated area just outside the village and walk to the Múlafossur viewpoint. Parking is free.

  • Public Transport

    From Tórshavn or Vágar Airport, take bus route 300 to Sørvágur. From Sørvágur, transfer to bus route 350 to Gásadalur. The bus journey from Sørvágur to Gásadalur takes approximately 7 minutes. Bus 350 departs three times a day, Monday to Friday. From the Gásadalur bus stop, walk to the Múlafossur viewpoint. A multi-day travel card for buses and ferries (excluding Mykines) costs 500 DKK for four days.

  • Walking

    For a scenic and challenging hike, take the old village path from Bøur to Gásadalur. The trail is 3.5 km long and takes approximately 2.5 hours. The path is steep and difficult to climb. From the parking area about 350 meters before the Gásadalstunnilin tunnel entrance, follow the gravel road to the small car park, marked with a Bøur-Gásadalur trailhead info board. Be prepared for steep inclines and declines. Consider booking a taxi for pickup in Gásadalur after the hike.
