Car
From Hossa National Park, head southwest on Route 5 (E63) towards Suomussalmi. Continue on Route 5 for about 90 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 6 in the town of Kuhmo. Merge onto Route 6 and follow it for approximately 35 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 89. Turn left onto Route 89 and drive for about 50 kilometers. At the intersection with Route 23, turn right and follow Route 23 for approximately 30 kilometers. Take the exit towards Vastila, and follow the signs to Valkmusa National Park, located at Vastilantie 886, 49220 Vastila. Make sure to check for any tolls or fuel costs along the way.

From Hossa National Park, take a bus to the nearest major city, which is Kuhmo. Buses are available regularly, but check the schedule in advance. Once you arrive in Kuhmo, transfer to a bus headed towards Vastila. The journey from Kuhmo to Vastila may take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, so plan accordingly. Upon arrival at Vastila, you might need to walk or take a taxi to reach the entrance of Valkmusa National Park at Vastilantie 886, 49220 Vastila.
