Elämyspiha PikkuKili: An Animal Adventure in Kelvä

Nestled high on a hill in the serene landscapes of North Karelia, Finland, Elämyspiha PikkuKili offers a delightful escape into the world of animals and nature. This family-friendly zoo is home to over 200 animals, ranging from familiar farmyard residents to more unusual species. Visitors can get up close with alpacas, miniature pigs, reindeer, donkeys, and llamas, among others.The park is designed to be accessible for all, with wheelchair-friendly paths winding through the 11-hectare grounds. A prominent feature is the 22-meter high observation tower, offering panoramic views of the surrounding Karelian wilderness, where bears, wolves, lynx and wolverines roam.Beyond the animals, PikkuKili provides a range of activities to keep visitors entertained. Children can enjoy the playground, while the swimming pond offers a refreshing dip in the summer months. There are several 'kotas' (traditional Lappish huts) dotted around the park, providing cozy spots to relax and enjoy a picnic. A kiosk sells snacks, drinks, and souvenirs. For a truly immersive experience, visitors can stay overnight in one of the park's wilderness cottages or the charming log cabin by the lake. These include a kitchenette and sauna.PikkuKili is open from mid-May to the end of September, with slightly reduced hours in September.
