Pattijoki Stone Arch Bridge: A Historic Landmark

The Pattijoki Stone Arch Bridge, located in the charming village of Pattijoki near Raahe, stands as a testament to Finnish engineering and history. Originally, the bridge was part of Highway 8, handling heavy traffic. In the late 1960s, the highway was rerouted, and by the mid-1970s, the bridge was designated for local use, accommodating only light traffic. Since 1984, it has been recognized as a road museum site, preserving its historical significance. The bridge's original wooden railings were replaced in 1925 with the current railings.
